We’re not quite as Irish as Chicago, but San Diego still has plenty of ways to celebrate the St. Patrick’s Day holiday. Where they’ve got green rivers and overcast skies, we have green beer and sunshine. Check out some of our top picks for your 2018 St. Patrick’s Day festivities.

ShamROCK in the Gaslamp

Join over 20,000 party-goers in the Gaslamp Quarter for a night of music, green Bud Light, and general revelry. St. Patrick’s Day Fun Run at Mission Bay Park

If you want to burn some calories before your first Guinness or whiskey — or if you just prefer a more health-oriented celebration — sign up for a fun run or walk at Mission Bay Park. Kick off your St. Patrick’s Day with a low-pressure 2-4 mile run, or go the distance with the 10K. The run starts at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 17th.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade San Diego

You can’t go wrong with a classic — join the 38th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival at Balboa Park between 6th Street and Laurel. Throw back a cold one at the beer garden, explore a Celtic village, and grab a bite at one of the more than 75 booths. Bring the little ones by to enjoy The Kids Zone, which boasts traditional Irish music, kid-friendly rides, and crafts. No tickets required — just stop by between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17th!
